Book Review: Ghost Rider

Book Review: Ghost Rider

In less than a year, Neil Peart (drummer and lyricist for the rock band Rush) suffered unthinkable tragedy: losing his only daughter, Selena, in an automobile accident and, shortly thereafter, his wife of 22 years to cancer. Faced with overwhelming sadness and isolated from the world in his home on the lake, Peart was left without direction. The motorcycle journey took him from Quebec to Alaska,

Wisconsin Motorcycle Rides: Touring the Lower Wisconsin Riverway

As part of the upcoming Galena ride, we’ll be taking a ride up the Mississippi River, heading North into Wisconsin. This is a ride that I’ve thought about doing a long time and I am looking forward to it. I just found an article on one of the motorcycle twitter feeds that  I follow. I’m including the link here for your reference. Wisconsin Motorcycle Rides:

3 June 2012 – Ruben Brown Charity Run

We were some of the first ten bikes or so to arrive at  Side Out’s Bar & Eatery  the morning of Sunday, June 3rd. It was a beautiful, sunny morning with temps around 70 degrees. The forecast called for high around 80 degrees so we knew it was only going to get better. A few of us were donning our Chicago Bears attire for the Ruben Brown Foundation charity

30 May 2012 – Evening Ride

I used my Garmin 405 fitness watch to map last night’s ride with Dave. We covered 53 miles in a little over 3 hours. The ride took us from Cary, down to South Elgin and back. Of course, there was a brief stop at the Tilted Kilt for some hot wings (and a beverage). Below is a summary of the mapped ride. I’m kinda thinking

Freddy Jones Band @ Two Brothers Hop Juice Festival (Friday, June 1st)

Ok, most everyone who knows me, knows that the Freddy Jones Band is one of my favorite bands. They haven’t produced much lately in terms of new music, but I like to think my support of their sparse touring schedule (in the Chicagloand area) over the past few years has helped motivate them to get their asses back into the studio. This summer, they have a
